Coach of the Year
PYSA Coach of the Year
On Tuesday February 13th, Portland Youth Soccer Association (PYSA) hosted its annual general meeting at the Lucky Labrador. This is where coach Tre Clayton, one of NoPo's finest and most dedicated coaches, was awarded the girls coach of the year award. Below is an exert from his nomination, by co-coach Sara Patterson.
"Coach Tre's philosophy centers on enjoying the game and having fun. This approach has had a profound effect on our team. This unique blend of joy and focus has created a place where our players thrive, not only with the game, but their willingness to try and do things better.
Beyond the soccer field, coach Tre's involvement in the community sets a shining example by organizing learning opportunities and events, such as the team attending local high school games to learn and bond as a team. These opportunities foster a sense of TEAM among the players.
Coach Tre's nomination is well deserved. The combination of promoting sportsmanship, dedication to player development, a great coaching philosophy, and active community involvement. Tre is an exceptional leader and mentor both on and off the field. This all comes down to Tre's unwavering commitment to the holistic development of the players."
Tre is an outstanding person and a valuable asset to NoPo. We are very fortunate to have him!
