She Scores!
Program Overview
Statistics have shown middle school girls are 50% more likely to quit sports compared boys. Studies show four main factors causing this:
Lack of family support
Negative coaching experiences
Lack of transportation
Body image concerns
Lack of female role models
She Scores is a free soccer program designed by North Portland Soccer Club (NPSC) to keep middle school girls in North Portland engaged and empowered through soccer. Focused on increasing access and participation for girls from underserved and low income backgrounds, the program includes a week-long summer camp (June 16th-20th), educational workshops, and a trip to a Portland Thorns game (June 21st).
All rising middle school girls (entering 6th, 7th or 8th grade for the 2025-26 school year) who reside in North Portland or from the following schools are encouraged to apply.
Astor K-8
César Chávez K-8
George Middle School
Ockley Green Middle School
She Scores is limited to 50 participants. In the event that we receive more applications than available spots, priority will be given to:
Students from low-income households
Students attending George Middle School or César Chávez School
Applicants who submit their registration earliest
We encourage all eligible students to apply as soon as possible!
