The North Portland Soccer Club (NPSC) is looking to strengthen its relationships and player enrollment numbers at three of North Portland's schools: Cesar Chavez K-8 School, Rosa Parks Elementary, and George Middle School. To achieve this, we are launching a new pilot program called “School Champions” in early 2025 to increase our community organizing efforts. We are seeking three (3) individuals (one per school) to step into this role and build relationships with school administration and connect with families to help us increase awareness of our programs, engage the school community in our Fields Project, and to increase player registrations in our programs.
School Champion candidates should have experience doing community organizing work and/or have established relationships at one of these three (3) schools (i.e., as a parent / guardian at the school). Some basic computer skills will be needed (i.e., emailing and using Google Drive) as well as excellent communication skills. This role will be crucial in increasing our organization’s player registration numbers and identifying youth that would benefit from a club scholarship opportunity. This is a contract position that will require attendance at school events such as PTA meetings, school celebrations, and one-on-one support with families trying to register their players.
