Coaches SafeSport Policy
I. PURPOSE
The purpose of this policy is to ensure there is a SafeSport certified adult present at all North Portland Soccer Club related activities.
II. DEFINITIONS
SafeSport is an online training program specifically designed for adults who will be coaching organized youth sports. SafeSport is dedicated to ending sexual, physical, and emotional abuse on behalf of athletes.
III. POLICY STATEMENT
North Portland Soccer Club is committed to creating a safe and fun environment for all coaches and players. As part of coaching with NOPOSC, coaches agree to complete SafeSport training and be certified before the first practice of each season. Additionally, coaches agree to always have at least one SafeSport certified coach at all NOPOSC related activities.
IV. PROCEDURES
In the event a SafeSport certified coach is not available for a practice:
Coaches will cancel the practice
In the event a SafeSport certified coach is not available for a game:
Coaches will notify the Program Director immediately
The Program Director will act as a substitute coach for the game
