Omar Navarro-Ramirez, Programs Director

Omar is a Portland native growing up in SE Portland. He received his Bachelors in Human Physiology from Southern Oregon University in 2021. Omar grew up playing soccer starting at just 4 years old. He played competitively with Washington Timbers for 2 years and finished his youth soccer with Portland City United. After graduating High School he took a gap year and then pursued to play collegiately at Lane Community College. Being part of a record breaking team, they qualified to the Northwestern Athletic Conference playoffs for the first time in program history and finished 2nd place in the South Region Conference. Omar received All-Star and Academic Honors. He continued to play collegiately transferring to Southern Oregon University (SOU) being apart of a nationally ranked program. He only competed one year at SOU due to Covid.

Omar started his coaching career with Eugene Timbers in their Little Timbers program when he was 19. Since then he has coached all levels of soccer. Coaching at Ashland High School, Omar was apart of a staff that led the team to a conference and regional championship all while navigating the difficulties of a pandemic and keeping student athletes safe. Afterwards he was given the opportunity to join the Southern Oregon University staff being apart of another nationally ranked program and where they became conference champions, conference tournament finalists, and the NAIA national tournament qualifiers. At the end of their national tournament run, they ended up being knocked out by the national champions. Additional to coaching collegiately Omar is an assistant coach with the United PDX USL 2 and W programs. Since the programs started in 2023, the USL W has finished 2nd in the conference both years and the USL 2 became co-conference champions and qualified for the USL 2 national playoffs. Furthermore Omar has taken many leadership roles such as being a Camp Director at PTFC and the Junior Academy Director at Rogue Valley Timbers.

Omar continues to live in SE Portland while working seasonally with Southern Oregon University in Ashland, Oregon. When Omar is not working you can find him playing soccer himself or enjoying time with his two dogs.
